With the improvement of environmental protection requirements,the application of DAEin tire will gradually be replaced by the environmentally-friendly oil. The compatibilitybetween tire rubber and environmentally-friendly oil was reduced because of lower aromaticcontent of oil, which affect tire production process and usability. In this article, a higheraromatics content of R5resin and environmentally-friendly oil were added into silica filledSSBR/BR tread, the effects of resin on theproperties of tread were studied, particularly wearresistance, wet skid resistance and rolling resistance; the effects of different components ofresin on BIIR/NR inside liner properties were investigated through improving compatibilityof blends.The molecular structure and thermostability of aromatic resin were characterized byFT-IR, Py/GC-MS, GPC, TG and the analysis of the four components, the results show that,aromatic resin was composed of benzene ring and chain hydrocarbon, it possess goodthermostability, higher resin and asphaltene content, wider molecular weight distribution andits maximum relative molecular weight can be as high as more than10000. GC-MS testresults for extracted R5resin shows that total PAHs are less then10ppm, BaP content is lessthan1ppm, according with environmental protection requirement.For resin components, saturated hydrocarbon and aromatic hydrocarbon shows goodsofting effect with rubber, colloid and asphaltene have better compatibility with rubber andhigh affinity with silica. with same dosage ofenvironmentally-friendly oil, Mooney viscositywas reduced and Mooney scorch time was extended with resin dosage increasing; crosslinkdensity, mechanical properties and wear resistance were decreased for tread when resindosage is more than4phr.With2phr resin replaced2phr environmentally-friendly oil, rubber processability wasclose to environmentally-friendly oil and superior to DAE, mechanical properties werecomparable to DAE and environmentally-friendly oil. By swelling experiment, strainsweeping, temperature sweeping, SEM, DMA, etc, the results show that, resin can improvethe curing rate, crosslink density, wear resistance, filler dispersion, reduces the network effect of filler, which is benefited for improving the wet resistance and reduce rolling resistancecompared with the purlyadded environmentally-friendly oil.Six kinds of aromatic resin with different four components content were added intoinside liner rubber, Mooney viscosity and Mooney scorch test results show that, lowerasphaltene content of R1and R2resin can significantly reduce the Mooney viscosity, extendthe scorch time. Higher asphaltene content of resin barely affect modulous, tensile strength,tear strength. Test results for strain sweeping, TEM, SEM, DMA, etc, show that highasphaltene content of R5resin is more advantageous to improve compatibility between BIIRand NR, promote the dispersion of carbon black and improve the glass transition temperatureof rubber.
