Research And Design Of Electronic Nose System For Spice Identification

Electronic nose shows great importance in the identification of spices,but the existing commercial electronic nose is large,expensive,and it is not fit for portable or communication when it works in the outdoor environment;Not matter it is used in practical or research,it is not easy to modify or extend function of system or to achieve a customer program for meeting the actual needs;A minimized intelligent electronic nose is the requirement in the future;To meet all the requirement,a fundamental solution is to construct it in modular way and build it to be a new simple and effective spices electronic nose and work under embedded system.In order to get a better performance,an electronic nose,designed for spices,is developed,which is composed of sensor array,data acquisition system,data transmission and data processing system;it has the ability of working independently or interactively with PC,when it is xsed for spices identification or spices study.A set of functions,such as driver,application,data acquisition,data storage,data transmission,preprocessing,feature extraction,feature analysis and classification,is fulfilled,which is the inevitable application for its working under Linux,And it is working under linux3.0.1 environment,with fundamental functions to work on S3C6410(A CPU with ARM core)or 0x86 platform.It is to fulfill all the functions that an electronic nosed needed.when it is used to detect the status of some spices(star anise?fennel?prickly ash?laurel leaf?nutmeg?tsao-ko)by smell or aroma,with the help of PCA(principal component analysis)and SVM(Support vector machine),the accuracy may reach 95%.Ultimately,it is proved that system meets the requirement of classification,and it is available for classification of spice.
