In this paper,acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS)plastics was reinforced with three kinds of glass fiber,or plasticized with two kinds of plasticizers by Melt blending method.In this process,the plasticizer and the glass fiber were added according to a certain mass ratio.Wire Materials of ABS for Fused deposition molding were made.The effect of plasticizers and glass fibers on ABS was measured by VEKA softening point test machine for hot deformation,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),parallel plate shearing rheometer,melt flow rate meter,thermal gravimetric analyzer(TGA),electronic tensile machine,pendulum impact testing machine in the experiment.Through the analysis of the thermal properties,mechanical properties,rheological behavior,migration and shrinkage properties of the modified ABS wire,the following conclusions were drawn:Firstly,the softening point of ABS plastic are tend to reduced with the increasing of the content of plasticizer.At the same time,the glass transition temperature(Tg)are significantly decreased and they move towards the low temperature.According to the analysis of thermal deformation,DSC data and the practical operation,the platform print temperature and nozzle temperature of the ABS wire are set.The plasticizing agent is added to the ABS material,and then composite melt viscosity and storage can modulus(G ')and loss modulus(G”)significantly reduce.Moreover,with the increase of the content of plasticizer,they show a gradually decreasing trend,and the apparent viscosity of the melt decreases with the increase of the shear rate.The melt index of ABS plasticized systems gradually increase.There are only one platform in plasticizer/ABS blend system,this means that plasticizer and ABS plastic in the Composite Material are well-mixed.The increase of Tdi and Tdmax of the ABS wire show a decreasing trend with the increase of plasticizer content as well,this indicate that the modified ABS material is not be decomposed in the printing process.The flexibility of ABS is obviously improved after adding plasticizer.The tensile strength,flexural strength,impact strength and hardness of the ABS wire exhibit a tendency to decrease.For a plasticizer with the same content,those properties of plastic material is higher,but the difference is not large.The migration loss rate of the composite increases first and then decreased with the time prolongation,hence,it shows an upward trend with the increase of plasticizer content.The results indicate that materials in fused deposition molding method is not hardly effected by plasticizer migration.As a result,the properties is not destroyed.The shrinkage rate of ABS system gradually increase.It is slightly higher than that of ABS/TEC composite under the same content of plasticizer,meanwhile,both of them is less than 1%in general.Secondly,with the increase of the content of glass fiber(GF),the softening point of the material shows a gradual upward trend when ABS plastic reinforced with glass fiber,and it gradually improve Under the same content of GF.Three kinds of GF has little effect on the glass transition temperature(Tg)of ABS composites.The experiment found that ABS wire reinforced with GF can not be used in 3D printing forming some products.The melt viscosity,storage modulus(G ')and loss modulus(G ")of ABS composite is markedly increased after the addition of GF,and with the increase of the content and length of glass fiber,it shows a rising tend.As a result,the viscosity of the material in the melting process is reduced,which is not conducive to the formation of the printed product.In this process,the melt index of glass fiber reinforced ABS system showed a gradual decline trend and in the same plasticizer content the longer the length of glass fiber,the lower the melt index.The tensile strength,flexural strength,impact strength and hardness of the ABS wire exhibit a tendency to increased gradually,while the elongation at break and impact strength were just the opposite.
