The unique features of antifouling and self-cleaning properties of the super-hydrophobic surface make it widely applied in industry,agriculture and military fields.The fluorine-containing polymer has become one of today's hot topics applied in preparing hydrophobic and super-hydrophobic surface due to its low energy property.From the biomimetic perspective of the lotus,we synthesized a series of fluorinated copolymer with low surface energy and reactive groups.These copolymers were then employed to prepare hydrophobic coatings by photocuring and electrospray methd.The main contents and results were summaried below:(1)A series fluorine-containing copolymers containg hydroxyl side groups were synthesized by solution polymerization.The reaction parameters were optimized.The results show that the yield of obtained copolymer can reach 49.18%under the following conditions:61? of reaction temperarture,24 h of reaction time and 2wt.%of ABVN as initiator.According to the contact angles of the polymer films with three liquid(water,ethylene glycol and glycerol),surface energy of the polymers are around 20?30 mN/m,particularly 21.68 mN/m for PF-12HMA64,indicating the low energy property.(2)PF-12HMA64 was incorporated into the photocuring coating formulation.The photocured film exhibit micro-wrinkled surfaces with water contact angle of 112.1°.The results indicated that PF-12HMA64,TPGDA,MMS and MIC play a desicive role in the hydrophobicity of the obtaied surface.Missing anyl of them in the formulation led to the great decrease in water contact angle,which might be attributed to their contribution to the generation of microphase seperation.(3)The superhydrophobic coatings were prepared by electrostatic spray method with the obained fluorinated copolymer,and the hydrophobic property of coating was evaluated by mearurement of the static contact angle and the dynamic contact angle.The results showed that the coating prepared by elctronspaying 26.64%PF-12HMA64 of ethanol solution exhibited a higher contact angle(156.99°).and a lower contact angle hysteresis(3.85°).The microstructure and chemical composition of the obtqied surfqce were analyzed by using SEM,AFM,XPS.The results showed that superhydrophobic coating is composed of polymer particles(0.4?m?4?m)with micro-wrinkles.The conent of fluorine of polymer particles surface reached as high as 41.69%,which is higher than the content of fluorine of polymer itself,indicating that the coating surface is enriched in-CF3 group.High fluorine content of the surface of polymer particles and their surface micro-wrinkles formed by electrospray are supposed to be the fundamental reasons of coating superhydrophobic performance.
