Rotor-stator reactor(RSR),one kind of novel reactor of process intensification based on Higee technology,was been sucessfully applied in desulfuration and preparation of nanometer materials.Through generating centrifugal force to estimate a high gravity environment,it can cut the liquid with high dispersion,causing the high mass transfer performance and good micromixing.What's more,RSR is appropriate to high viscosity system or easily blocked system because of its unique rotor-stator structure.Therefore,RSR is believed to a suitable emulsification equipment.However,there are rare researches about the emulsification in RSR.The main aim of our study was to examine and then intensify the emulsification capabilities in RSR.Firstly we research the batch emulsifcation by preparing sillicone oil emulsions and then ultrasonic probes were installed into the RSR to developed a new type RSR coupling with ultrasound(U-RSR).The emulsification capabilities of U-RSR is studied and compared with the results in RSR.Finally,U-RSR is applied to prepare the amino-silicone microemulsion which meets the requirement of the market.The results are listed below:1.Silicone oil emulsion in micron level is successfully prepared in rotor-stator reactor.Higher viscosity oils,higher oil fraction and lower rotor speed would increase the time to reach the equlibrium drop size and finally produce larger equilibrium Sauter mean diameter.Based on the Kolmogorov-Hinze models,correlations were built to display the relations between Sauter mean diameter and experimental parameters.The predicted values of correlations are in good agreement with the experimental values with deviations generally within 10%,indicating the feasibility of employing this correlation to predict the equilibrium drop size of the silicone emulsion in the RSR.2.Silicone oil emulsion in micron level is successfully prepared in rotor-stator reactor coupling with ultrasound.With the increase of ultrasonic power and the number of ultrasonic reactors,and the closer ultrasonic reactor location,the equlibirum time is shortened and drop size is smaller.Attribute to ultrasound,the U-RSR owns better emulsification capabilities including reducing both equilibrium time and equilibrium Sauter mean diameter.3.Rotor-stator reactor coupling with ultrasound is applied to the preparation of amino-silicone microemulsion.By optimizing both the fomulation and the experimental parameters,a kind of amino-silicone microemulsion was prepared successfully,which meets the requirment of the market.
