The ultrasonic vibration turning technology is an advanced manufacturing method compared with the ordinary turning way.In the field of the traditional mechanical processing and manufacturing,it's difficult for the ordinary turning method to turn high quality slender,thin walled pipe,hard-brittle material,etc.Ultrasonic vibration turning as an advanced manufacturing method can make up for disadvantages of the traditional mechanical processing and manufacturing.Ultrasonic vibration turning has many advantages,such as,small turning force,low turning temperature,long service life of turning tools,high machining surface quality,etc.The research of the ultrasonic vibration turning technology has a bright wide application prospect.This paper is focused on some improvement and perfection to a kind of ultrasonic vibration turning device,analyzed principle of the ultrasonic vibration turning device's movement.The project work out the corresponding mathematical motion model of the ultrasonic vibration turning device through the calculation of coordinate transformation,the ultrasonic vibration turning device's requirement of the ultrasonic signal drive and carry on the summary of ultrasonic vibration turning principle and research.By Abaqus simulation software,the movement simulation,static analysis and modal analysis for the improved the entire unit has been carried on.It is concluded that the trajectory of the ultrasonic vibration turning device's tool nose presents the 3D space curves.Each unit of the device's strength meets the requirements of machining performance.The natural frequency of the head cover should avoid the natural frequency of cutter body,in order to prevent the resonance and affect the entire unit turning processing.Through Abaqus simulation software,the working frequency of the ultrasonic vibration turning device is preliminary determined at about 39.7 KHz.When the frequency of the ultrasonic vibration turning device is at 38.8 KHz,the ultrasonic generator's current is maximum,about 2.5 A,through the detection of ultrasonic generator's current.Thus the working frequency of the ultrasonic vibration turning device is eventually determined at 38.8 KHz.The power of the ultrasonic vibration turning device is about 30 w.The device is clamped onstainless steel bars.Through the detection of surface roughness,it is concluded that this CA6140 lathe for turning test on 45#steel and 201 device has a highly quality performance obviously.The surface roughness Sa reduced from 1.70 to 1.4,up 16.6%.
