Rib lath(also named expanded mesh with V ribs)is widely used in construction and decoration because of its unique structural characteristics and mechanical properties.Cyclical intermittent shearing metal strip and expanded it into the needed pattern are two key technology of the rib lath.In this paper,the researchful object is the rib lath of YB0.4×8×600×1440.Rollingshear tool which is used to processing slits is designed according to the relevant standard of QB2959-2008.The helical blade and body are designed separately.Rolling-shear mechanism include blade overlap adjusting device and blade side clearance adjusting device is designed on the basis of rolling-shear tool.The designs of tool with helical blade and mechanism lays the foundation for the research of rolling-shear with helical blade.Numerical analysis model is established and the rolling-shear progress of thin metal strip is simulated by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA finite element software.The distribution of stress and strain are obtained and the variation laws of stress and strain of an element at shear area are analyzed.Meanwhile,the curves and laws of rolling-shear force are obtained and explainedThe effects of various parameters such as gaps of shear blade,overlaps of shear blade,shear speeds and the strip thickness on shear force,stress,strain,section quality of thin metal strip are investigated.The results can provide the reference for the selection of the process parameters of the rolling-shear with helical blade.A new technology of rolling-shear with helical blade is proposed through this paper.Process simulation and analysis are verified on the basis of this technology.The application of this technology can not only reduce the noise of the equipment,but also increase the production efficiency of rib lath.Therefore,it will be of great value to popularize the technology of rolling-shear with helical blade.
