In recent years,the use of aluminum alloy wheels in the automotive market is getting higher and higher,it has gradually replaced the steel wheels and become the first choice.In general,the price of casting wheel is cheap but poor performance;while the forging wheel's performance is better but the price is higher.At present,most of the wheels on the market are produced by casting.In China,gravity casting and low pressure die casting are commonly used in the process of wheel casting,but the feeding capacity in the two processes are not enough.Aiming at the deficiency of traditional gravity casting and low pressure die casting,this paper presents a new technology of aluminum alloy wheel.The metal liquid filling the mold with control speed and non-gas from the central of top mold,then the pressure device to carry out a strong reinforcing and the casting shrinking under the high pressure.It not only inherits the advantages of gravity casting and low pressure casting,but also improves the casting performance because of its large pressure.In this paper,the principle and forming process of the power casting technology of aluminum alloy wheel are described and analyzed,and a ten spoke wheel is taken as an example to carry out the numerical simulation analysis and production test verification.First of all,the process under natural cooling condition was simulated,the flow field in mold filling process,temperature field in solidification process and defects were analyzed.Secondly,the influence of preheating temperature,pouring temperature and pressure on the casting quality are analyzed.The results show that the optimum mold preheating temperature is 300?,the optimum pouring temperature is about 700?,and the increase of pressure can significantly reduce the shrinkage defects.Thirdly,the effect of cooling process on casting quality is analyzed.The shrinkage porosity is obviously reduced by the use of air cooling and water cooling.Finally,the production test of aluminum alloy wheel was carried out.Compared with the traditional casting process,the performance of the final product has been greatly improved.The results show that the method is correct and reasonable,and is a good method for forming aluminum alloy wheel.
