A356 aluminum alloy material has advantages such as good fluidity,small line shrinkage,no hot cracking tendency during the die casting process of the hub,and is therefore widely used in hub forming.The semi-solid forming technique is a technique that utilizes the unique rheological properties of metals in a solid-liquid coexistence state to perform molding.The combination of the two allows the formed hub to have good mechanical properties and uniform organization.With the continuous development of diecasting numerical simulation technology,the numerical simulation of the semi-solid diecasting process of A356 aluminum alloy hubs can predict the hub defects in advance.At the same time,according to the changes of temperature field and flow field during the die casting process,reasonable process parameters can be developed for actual production.Provide a reliable numerical basis.This article is based on the heat transfer and solidification theory,combined with A356 aluminum alloy material thermal properties parameters and wheel structure characteristics,die casting process,through Anycasting casting simulation software for the wheel die casting process temperature field,flow field numerical simulation,and based on this Optimize die casting process parameters and eliminate casting defects.First,the hub is modeled by ProE software.Then,according to the performance of A356 aluminum alloy and the wheel die casting process,an open bottom gating system was designed.Finally,the Anycasting software was used to simulate the wheel die casting process,and the temperature distribution and flow field distribution of the hub filling process and the solidification process were analyzed.The position and distribution of the hub defects were predicted and used as the optimum die casting process parameters.Eliminating the theoretical basis for die-casting defects.In addition,the optimal die casting process parameters were determined through the establishment and comparison of the die casting process parameters in the orthogonal experiment method,and it was concluded that a reasonable elevation of the pouring temperature and the die preheating temperature can effectively improve the quality of the hub.The numerical simulation results of the optimum die casting process parameters show that under the conditions of die casting speed 6.5mm/s,die casting temperature 605°C and die preheating temperature 420°C,the slurry flows smoothly,the solidification rate is low,and the temperature changes during the filling process.The gradient is small;the solidification process takes a short time,the temperature changes evenly,and the thin-walled edge defects of the hub can be effectively eliminated to meet the actual production requirements for wheel hubs.
