Coordination polymers(CPs)constructed by transition melts with nitrogenous heterocyclic and carboxylic ligands have attracted many interests,owing to various topologies and applications in a lot of advanced fields.Through reasonably selecting organic ligands and metal ions,controlling reaction conditions,directional assembly of the functional CPs have become one of key research topics of coordination chemistry.Three new flexible bis(thiabendazole)ligands: 1,3-bis(2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazol-1-yl)propane(btbp),1,4-bis(2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazol-1-yl)butane(btbb)and 1,6-bis(2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazol-1-yl)hexane(btbh)are employed as building blocks and dicarboxylic acids as auxiliary ligands with transition metal salts to assemble twelve CPs under hydrothermal conditions.All the CPs have been characterized by X-ray singlecrystal diffraction,powder X-ray diffraction,elemental analyses and IR spectra,and topologic method was applied to analyse their structure characteristics clearly.Four new Co(?)CPs have been constructed by employing btbb and four bicarboxylic acids with Co(?).Compounds 1~3 all display 2D typical hcb layer structure,while compounds 1 and 3 are further extended into 3D three-fold interpenetrating mog framework and(3,4)-connected xww-3,4-P21/c network.Compound 4 shows a 0D structure,which is further connected via hydrogen bonding interactions to afford a 3,4L39 topology.Eight new d10(Cd(?)/Zn(?))metal CPs have been synthesized by utilizing btbp,btbb and btbh ligands and bicarboxylic acids.Compound 5 presents a 3D three-fold interpenetrating mog topology.Compound 7 is a 3D(3,4)-connected 3,4T10 topology.Compounds 6,8 and 11 feature 2D(6,3)hcb layer,and compound 11 is further combined into a cem-d topology via hydrogen bonds.Compounds 9,10 and 12 possess 1D chains and further extended into 2D supramolecular structures by ?-? stacking interactions.Compounds 5,7,8 and 9 display high thermal stability.In addition to the compounds 3 and 4,other compounds have good fluorescence properties.What's more,compounds 1,3,6,7 and 11 show remarkable catalytic activities for the degradation of methyl orange azo dye,demonstrating their potential application as new catalyst.
