Cotton fiber with good mechanical properties, dyeing performance, hydrophilic properties, are popular with consumers, and are widely used in textile and apparel industries.Cotton is derived from nature.Cotton fabric is the most widely used home fabric so far.But it has shortcomings that should be paid attention to.However, cotton fibers are easily polluted by bacterias. In the pursuit of safety and comfortable commodity, antibiotic cotton fibers have wide propects of makets and applications. Therefore, performing a series of study on the structure, physical and chemical properties, dyeing and finishing process of antibiotic cotton systematically has great significance. This paper study on the active chlorine content of grafted cotton with N-halamine antibacterial agent through new bridging agent 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether, the optimum grafted process conditions were determined by studying the impact of different bridging agent content, antibacterial agent content, curing temperature, chlorination time, reactant molar ratio on the active chlorine content of grafted cotton. The optimum grafted conditions are recommended: bridging agent content was 25g/L,reactant molar ratio was 1.2,antibacterial agent content was 20g/L,curing temperature was 140 °C and the chlorination time was 30 min.First, before reseraching the antibiotic and dyeing properties of grafted cotton,it is necessary to analyze the structure and performance of grafted cotton. The structure of grafted cotton was characterized by FT-IR and scanning electron microscope while the structure of grafted cotton were compared with cotton. The results showed that there was significant difference between the movement of the alkyl group between grafted cotton and cotton. The thermal stability of cotton and grafted cotton was analyzed by TG.The results showed that there was no significant difference between the thermal stability of cotton and grafted cotton.Their thermal degradation temperature T5 were respectively 333.15 °C and 335.42 °C.Then study on the properties of dyeing of grafted cotton with active dyes, the optimum dyeing process conditions were determined by studying the impact of different dyeing temperature, dyeing time, fixing temperature, dyeing p H value on the K/S value and the influence of the color fastness. The optimum dyeing conditions are recommended: p H = 9,the heating rate was 1 °C / min, dyeing at 65 °C for 45 min,and fixing at 70 °C for 30 min.The study found that grafted cotton is suitable for medium temperature dyeing.Research on the theory of dyeing of grafted cotton with active dyes. The results showed that pseudo-first-order kinetics model may describe the dyeing process of grafted cotton with active dyes active blue 4.When grafted cotton was dyed at 65 °C,and the dyeing percentage of the grafted cotton dyed by active dyes could nearly reach 80%.The adsorption of grafted cotton on active blue 4 may be the Freundlich adsorption isotherms. Finally, the application of cotton grafted combine wih N-halamine antibiotic agent through 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether. It could be given cotton good antibacterial properties,After finishing, the antibacterial effect of cotton grafted on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus was excellent, inoculated bacteria could all be killed within 30 minute, respectively.Approximately 50% of active chlorine was recovered after the fabric was washed by machine for 20 times. After 30 days of storage, the active chlorine was not decreased obviously. And the Mechanical properties of cotton grafted dyed by active blue 4 just slightly decreased.
