Chlorosulfonated polyethylene(CSM)has good mechanical properties,aging resistance,heat resistance,oil resistance,fire resistance,abrasion resistance and electrical insulation,CSM blending with other rubbers can get excellent comprehensive properties.In this paper,the effects of CSM curing system and the dosage of Zinc Oxide on the comprehensive performance of CSM were studied.Secondly,the properties of ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM)/CSM blends were studied,the compatibility and the flame retardant properties of the blends were improved by adding different compatibilizers and flame retardants.The properties of nitrile rubber(NBR)/CSM blends were studied in order to obtain the blends with excellent properties.Finally,the properties of natural rubber(NR)/CSM blends were studied,and the flame retardant properties of the blends were improved by different flame retardants.The results showed that:(1)The best mechanical properties of CSM were obtained by using DPTT and DM as the Vulcanization system.With the increase of the amount of ZnO,the tensile strength of CSM vulcanizate increased firstly and then decreased,and the crosslinking density,tear strength and hardness increased,and the flame retardancy and oil resistance were improved.The tensile strength retention rate and the aging resistance of CSM vulcanizate decreased after thermal oxidative aging.(2)The EPDM modified by CSM blends can improve the aging properties,flame retardancy and oil resistance of EPDM.With the increase of the amount of CSM,the tensile strength of EPDM/CSM blends decreased,the elongation at break,tear strength and hardness were increased,the oil resistance was better,and theflame retardancy was improved.After the thermal oxidative aging of EPDM/CSM blends,the retention rate of tensile strength and elongation at break were increased,and the aging resistance was better.The tensile strength of EPDM/CSM blends decreased significantly,which indicated that EPDM and CSM were not compatible.The compatibility of the blends was improved by adding compatibilizer CPE,EVM,ZDMA and TMPTMA.The results showed that the crosslinking agent ZDMA had the best effect on the compatibility.The flame retardancy of EPDM/CSM blend was improved by adding different flame retardants.When the dosage of ZnO and DPTT were 2 and 1.5 phr,the mechanical properties of EPDM/CSM blends were better.When adding the modified magnesium hydroxide flame retardant and the blending ratio of EPDM/CSM was 75/25,the mechanical properties and flame retardant properties of EPDM/CSM blends were better.(3)The blending of CSM and NBR can improve the heat aging property,the weather resistance and oil resistance of NBR,and both of them have polar groups,and the solubility parameters are close to each other.With the increase of the amount of CSM,the tensile strength and hardness of NBR/CSM blends increased,and the tensile strength and elongation at break decreased.The aging resistance and the ozone resistance of the blends were better.(4)The properties of NR/CSM blends is better than that of the individual.With the increase of the amount of CSM,the tensile strength of NR/CSM blends decreased firstly and then increased,the hardness and tear strength increased.CSM can improve the ozone resistance of the blends,With the increase of the amount of CSM,the tensile strength retention of the blends increased,the surface cracks decreased,and the ozone resistance of the blends was improved.The decrease of tensile strength became less,which indicated the heat oxygen aging resistance of the blends was improved.The comprehensive properties of the blends were better with the combination of the modified magnesium hydroxide flame retardant and EG-200.
