Expanded graphite material has excellent oil slick adsorption performance,and has the advantages of simple preparation,low cost and good environmental protection.It is widely regarded as a new generation of green oil slick adsorption material for sea oil spill cleaning.Microwave method for the preparation of expanded graphite is simple,efficient,expanded uniformly,low cost of equipment,easy to achieve industrial continuous production.However,the technology to prepare expanded graphite with microwave method is not yet mature,many key processes are still in the exploratory stage,resulting in a non-ideal product quality and production efficiency of the graphite expansion equipment.Therefore,it is very important to explore a set of better expanded graphite preparation process and develop a more efficient new graphite expansion equipment for the development of industrial graphite preparation process by the microwave method.The finite element simulation of the expansion box of Yanshan University 's self-made graphite expansion equipment was carried out to calculate the distribution of microwave field in the expansion box with Ansoft HFSS electromagnetic simulation software,and the reliability of the simulation results of microwave field is verified by qualitative analysis.Considering the distribution of the microwave field in the expansion box and the ablation of the graphite,the uniformity of the microwave field in the expansion box was optimized.The four process parameters influencing the expansion volume of expanded graphite were analyzed and the orthogonal test table was established based on the influence of each factor on the expansion volume.A set of optimal expanded graphite preparation process parameters was obtained by the orthogonal test method.According to the optimum process parameters,the existing graphite expansion equipment was redesigned and a new type of graphite expansion equipment was developed which improved the production efficiency and the expansion volume of expanded graphite.The new graphite expansion equipment mainly includes feeding system,expansion system,conveyor system and measurement and control system.The feeding device was designed to achieve continuous feeding of the material automatically.The expansion system was redesigned with the optimized process parameters and the material of conveyor unit was re-selected,which improved the high temperature resistance and the microwave transmission performance of the conveyor system.
