Currently, temperature sensitive paints technology is the only temperature measurement technology has dual advantages of non-contact measurement and all-round measurement.Rare earth with different ligands and phenanthroline complexes and Dy-doped,Y-doped,Nd-doped and Zn-doped Eu?MAA?3Phen complexes were prepared by using rare earth oxides?Eu2O3,Tb4O7,Sm2O3,Dy2O3,Y2O3,Nd2O3,ZnO?,methacrylate?MAA?,salicylic acid?HSal?,cinnamic acid?HCA?and phenanthroline?Phen?.Corresponding temperature sensitive paints were obtained by the polymerization of complexes as probe molecules and polymethylmethacrylate as matrix. The structure, luminescence property and morphology of probe molecules and the temperature quenching property of temperature sensitive paints were characterized by infrared spectrometer,ultravoilet-visible absorption spectrometer, fluorescence spectrometer and scanning electron microscopy. It is indicated that rare earth ions and main ligands are coordinated and phenanthroline is involved in,that the structure of Eu?MAA?3Phen is not destroyed when doped with distinct metal ions. The probe molecules appear strong ?-?* transition absorption.Eu?MAA?3Phen has the best fluorescence and temperature sensitive property in nine probe molecules which were ternary complexes of Eu3+,Tb3+,Sm3+ as the main rare earth ions,MAA,HSal and HCA as the main ligands and Phen as the second ligand respectively. It is demonstrated that Y has sensitization effect and Dy,Nd,Zn have quenching effects on the fluorescence of Eu?MAA?3Phen.Temperature sensitive paints have favorable temperature quenching properties at the temperature range of 2565 ? is illustrated. The morphology of different probe molecules is distinct. It is analyzed that the temperature sensitive paint based Y-doped Eu?MAA?3Phen has good prospects for application.
