In this thesis paper, Two kinds of binary complexes([Eu(phen)3]3+ and [Eu(bipy)3]3+) and two kinds of ternary complexes(Eu(BA)3phen and Eu(BA)3bipy) were prepared, which the rare earth element europium was used as central ion, 1,10-phenanthroline(phen), 2,2-bipyridyl(bipy) and Benzoic acid(BA) were used as ligands. In addition, Eu(La)(BA)3phen and Eu(Gd)(BA)3phen were prepared which lanthanum and gadolinium was respectively doped into Eu(BA)3phen. Six kinds of temperature sensitive paint(TSP) were obtained when six kinds of complexes were doped into Methyl methacrylate(MMA), which were polymerized under the action of the initiator Benzoyl peroxide(BPO).The probe molecules and the temperature sensitive paints were characterized by SEM, IR, UV-vis and fluorescence spectrum. IR spectrum showed that the central ion were coordinated with ligands successfully in every complex. UV-vis absorption spectra showed that ligands obsorbed UV-light and delivered it to central ion, and PMMA didn't affect the absorption of probes. Fluorescence spectrum indicated that the fluorescence intensity of ternary complexes was stronger than binary complexes, and it was found that the ability of transfer energy of phen was stronger than bipy, the fluorescence intensity of Eu(La)(BA)3phen and Eu(Gd)(BA)3phen is stronger than Eu(BA)3phen. The temperature quenching properties of the six TSPs was good, but it was found that the temperature sensitivity of the six TSPs didn't increased with the enhancement of fluorescence intensity. It was showed that the temperature sensitivity was different in different temperature ranges. Every TSP with specific probe molecule has its specific temperature measuring sensitivity range.
