Along with the application of the Geodatabase,GIS,Object-oriented data model,3D modeling and 3D visualization technologies in digital oil field,some certain new concepts generally named as digital oil field,smaert oil field and mass data were generated and come into effect gradually,the database modeling technology has become the criticle challenge for petroleum company's establishing the integrated data and information management system;and accordingly that these basic geographic,exploration and development data are those indispensable constitute of database modeling,the following three challenges will have to be considered and solved in high priority level,the first is about the datum consistency between the data acquired nowadays and the previous data,the second is the data format compatibility about TEXT file,hard copy file,rasterfile and other different format file with the objectoriented data model popularly used nowdays,the third is the mass data management,in another words,how to assure their safe and confidential storage and efficient utility;As the result of these challenges described above,this paper hereby elaborates the solutions and procedures regarding the oil&gas fields located in Northwest of UAE as the research object,introducing the way to classify,analysiz and standardize these multisource and various format data;subsequently the logical and physical model used for petroleum company Geodatabase were designed and realized,also the Al Yasat Petroleum Company GIS system was established based on ArcGIS platform,and now it is working well.Main achievements of this project are listed as the following:1.Consolidated and analyzed the general information,exploration and development data related to the research project;defined the datum,ellipsoid,coordinates system and geodetic parameters used for the project geodatabase.2.Classified,standardized and analyzed the multisource data as the hard copy files(topographic map and bathymetric chart),TEXT file(well location),CAD files(early surveying and mapping files)and those files which lost Spatial Reference(recent oil&gas Shape Files).3.Investigated and analyzed the key factors like users,function demand,software &hardware,source distrubition that constitute the Geodatabase.4.Developed and established the Al Yasat GIS system based on the designed Geodatabase hereby.5.Realized spatial data management,information query,3D analysis&visualization and GIS map service;issued WebGIS.After system testing and practical running,all the solutions introduced herein to manage and utilize the multisource&mass data,the capability to process mass data,and the policy to assure the data safety can satisfy the Petroleum Company's requirement;as well as they can be generally referenced for similar case.
