3D printing technology as a new rapid prototyping technology,it is based on 3D digital model,building the 3D model into a real object by stacking layer by layer,its core idea is discrete model and material accumulation process.3D printing technology adopts the method of increasing material manufacturing,it effectively solves the problem of resource waste in traditional manufacturing technology;Casting technology is an old,mature manufacturing technology.But the production of cast is restricted by the appearance of the mode,causing restricted development of precision casting,in particular,some modeling with curved surface and thin wall thickness,it's production process are very complex and more time-consuming.If combine precision casting technology and 3D printing technology,using 3D printing equipment to print some traditional manufacturing can not be processed,or process some difficult mode,precision casting can be rapid casting some dimensions require higher precision,complex shape structure,thin-walled,no margin or less margin metal parts.Recent years,our country vigorously develop precision casting technology.But most production of the casting mold or mould can not be separated from the mold,and in many places still use the traditional pattern,causing the precision of casting is not high,the spare parts processing are larger,costing higher,especially some rapid replacement of castings.If we use the traditional mode will lead to mold design,manufacturing cycle is relatively long.But if the 3D printing technology used in mold manufacturing,it can provide a new thought and new way for the rapid design and manufacture of mold.In this paper,combined with the actual,by means of indirect molding technology and the production process of wood,using of 3D printing technology to replace the traditional process of making wood plastic pattern are discussed.Through the establishment of hub model,printing hub model,discussing on the printing process using 3D printing technology and modeling software in the modeling process,selection of modeling methods,factors and principles that should be considered when designing;And using different software to do STL format conversion on the hub shape,studying the operating mode and parameter setting principle when using different software to convert,and the influence of different processing methods on the surface precision of the model.Finally print the wheel hub.The research of this paperhas certain reference significance for the use of 3D printing technology to print the shape of the mold.
