TKX-50 is a novel kind of nitrogen energetic ion salt explosive with excellent performance such as low sensitivity,high detonation velocity,nontoxicity,which has potential application prospect.Different from the traditional ammonium nitrate explosive,The compound does not use conventional N-NO2 to increase energy,but the performance is improved by bistetrazole.The hydrogen bond system among ions was formed by the the introduction of oxygen atoms on the nitrogen ring and amine in the cation,which leads to high crystalline density.However,there are few reports on its application in composite explosive.Melt cast explosive is an important composite explosive.Its manufacturing process is simple and widely used,but the traditional melt cast explosive has some defects,which can not meet the needs of modern military and civil use.In this paper,the formula of composite explosive with TKX-50 as main explosive and TNT as carrier was designed,and the preparation technology and correlation property were also studied.The safety of the preparation process was analyzed,and the melting casting formula was theoretically calculated to ensure the feasib ility of the experimental scheme.The experimental results show that all components of melt cast explosive are compatible and the research can be done safely.The calculated results show that increasing the content of wax will further deteriorate the oxygen balance in the explosive system to generate CO2 meter and decrease the actual density and detonation velocity.Increasing the content of TKX-50 is beneficial to increase the theoretical density and detonation velocity of the melt cast explosive.The method on reducing the mechanical sensitivity was s tudied.The experimental results show that the mechanical sensitivity of TKX-50—TNT melt cast explosive is effectively reduced by making use of ultrasonic spheroidizing technique,particle grading technique,adding appropriate insensitive agent and controlling material ratio.And the optimum insensitive formula is determined,which contains 70% of TKX-50,29% of TNT and 1% of 58#wax.Based on the evaluation indexes such as density,mechanical sensitivity and detonation velocity of the melt cast explosive,the preparation process of the casting explosive was optimized by single factor inquiry and orthogonal experiment.The preparation conditions of TKX-50—TNT melt cast explosive were optimized,which means feeding speed is 20g/min,stirring speed is 400r/min,holding time is 20 min and holding temperature is 90 ?.The factors influencing the density of casting explosive are sorted as follows: holding temperature,holding time,stirring speed and feeding speed.The density,mechanical sensitivity,energy level,mechanical properties and thermal decomposition properties of TKX-50—TNT melt cast explosive which prepared under optimized technological conditions were tested.Particularly,The value of density,detonation velocity,compressive strength,tensile strength,shear strength,impact sensitivity and friction sensitivity for the best optimium formula were obtained,which are 1.77g/cm3,8361m/s,10.34 MPa,1.85 MPa,1.34 MPa,5% and 3% respectively,and all these properties are better than composition B.The thermal stability of TKX-50—TNT melt cast explosive was analyzed by dynamics and thermodynamics.The results show that the thermal stability of TKX-50—TNT melt cast explosive is better than that of RDX-TNT melt explosive and TKX-50 single compound explosive.Comprehensive analysis show that the application of TKX-50 in TNT based casting explosive has effectively improved the solid content,reduced the mechanical sensitivity,increased the detonation energy and enhanced the toughness and the astthermal stability of melt cast explosive.The above research provides a theoretical and technical basis for the research,production and application of TKX-50 based composite explosives.
