The key problem of the process of mechanical manufacturing is tool wear,which effects tool life,processing efficiency,surface quality and high processing costs.While the cutting technology is constantly improving and developing,the problem of tool wear is still inevitable due to the strong squeeze between the tool surface and the workpiece and friction with each other.A large number of bionics and tribology studies have shown that the surface of the frictional pair is not the more smooth the more wear-resistant,but on the surface of a certain micro-structure can improve the friction between the friction performance,surface bearing capacity and reduce the surface adhesion wear and so on.Therefore,this paper is based on the above conclusion,processing the typical microstructure on the cutting tool surface using femtosecond laser,analyzing the antifriction mechanism.The cutting simulation and cutting test of microstructure tool were done.The influence laws of the types and the size parameters of microstructures,the condition of the different lubrication on the cutting friction characteristics were investigated.Firstly,the typical non-smooth bionic microstructures,parallel trenches,vertical micro trenches and pits microstructures,are selected to analyze the possible mechanism of friction reduction on the microstructure of the tool surface.And then the microstructure is designed and dimensioned.By analyzing the interaction mechanism between the femtosecond laser and the cemented carbide YT15 tool material and the machining process,the process parameters of the microstructure of the YT15 tool were optimized to achieve the control of the microstructure of the size and shape quality.Furthermore,the finite element simulation software was used to simulate the microstructure of the micro-structure tool by ABAQUS software.It can obtain the effects of different types of microstructures and different morphologies on the stress distribution and cutting force of the tool are simulated by cutting the # 45 steel process with no-microstructure and different types of microstructure tools.Finally,selecting #45 steel as the workpiece material,cutting comparison test under dry cutting and cutting fluid lubrication of different conditions was implemented for different types of microstructure and size.Parallel grooves effect is most obvious with cutting fluid at the high cutting speed,and the cutting force is decreased by 17.74%.The effects of different types of microstructures,different lubrication conditions,width,spacing,depth and area occupancy on the wear reducing of the tool are obtained.Ultimately,the mechanism of micro-structural tool cutting and anti-friction is revealed.This research can provide the basis of the development of microstructure cutting tool and the further exploring of microstructure cutting tool.
