The oil and gas in the reservoir rock is an important energy source on earth, which brings great convenience to the human life.Rock physics is the foundation of geophysical explorations and well logging for oil and gas reservoirs. It is an important bridge between the oil and gas reservoir geology and reservoir evaluations.Well logging methods, which heavily rely on rock physics is an important means of oil and gas reservoir evaluations. It has become a spot in the field of Geophysics to study the electrical properties of rocks using digital rocks and numerical computation technology for oil and gas evaluation. In this paper, three classical models of rock microstructure are established, which are simple lattice model, face centered model, and body centered model.Commercial EM simulation software package High Frequency Simulation System(HFSS)is used to simulate the effective dielectric constant and conductivity of rocks with two and three components. To obtain the effective dielectric constants of rocks using HFSS software,an EM wave at the frequency of 50 Hz is applied to a unit cell of the rock model and the effective dielectric constant is obtained by the ratio of simulated electric flux density D and the electric field E.The effective dielectric constant of rocks with different porosity, different water saturation of rock, and different rock structure is obtained using the simulation. The simulated result is verified by using analytic formula, which has no micro-geometry information of the rocks and under limited assumptions.Although the analytic formula is lack of rock geometry,it is simple to use due to its simplicity. We use the simulated results to modify the Lorentz-Lorenz,Clausius-Mossotti(LLCM)formula,which is one of the most popular formula commonly used, using a non-linear fitting method to improve the accuracy of the semi-analytic formula. It has a great meaning both for scientific research and engineering applications.
