Automated Tape Laying(ATL)is the representative of composite material automatic processing,which integrates mechanical and electronic techniques,CAD/CAM software and material processing technology together.At present,“two-step” Automated Tape Laying is the latest composite material automatic processing technique based on ATL and it can increase efficiency further,which is one of the important directions of international development of ATL.In the light of the gap of “two-step” equipment in our country,this article researches one of the equipment technique of “two-step” ATL equipment------prepreg tape cutting system in content.Firstly,according to the theory of the prepreg tape cutting system,the overall deingn of the system has been done.The design scheme of this system has been put forward based on the design ideas of it,which includes the design of prepreg spool and cassette,isolation membrane and backing paper rolling and rewinding axes,ultrasonic cutters after improvement and cutting platform.Then the principle experimental platform has been built on this foundation.The control scheme of prepreg tape cutting system is proposed based on the design.The selection calculation of design parts,the selection of controller and the assisted parts are included in the control scheme.At last,the overall control scheme of the system is elaborated in same chapter.Then on the basis of the trajectory planning of ATL,the algorithm of double cutters motion in the prepreg tape cutting system has been planned.The scheme of cutters distribution is put forward arrording to the boundaries which can cut by double cutters and the cutting process is elaborated.Finally,double cutters cutting verification experiments have been done on the principle experimental platform that has been built already to validate the algorithm.And analyse the test result.After correcting the error,flat plate 45°laminate pre-cutting experiments have been done.The results show that the principle experimental platform can achieve design function.
