With the rapid development of the industry and people's daily transportation,more and more volatile organic compounds in the atmosphere are increasing.Organic waste gas has teratogenic carcinogenic role,which is harmf?L to h?man health.Biological treatment of volatile organic has attracted much attention for its advantage of low investment cost,low operating cost,simple operation and wide application.At present,the efficiency of the bio-trickling filter to dispose high concentration organic waste gas is very low.The experimental research of purifying waste gas containing toluene in high concentration by a bio-trickling filter was carried out in this paper,and the affecting factors,such as pH ?liquid spray flow were investigated respectively.The suitable operation conditions of bio-trickling filter were confirmed.The res?Lts of the research provided a base for the application of the industry.Acclimated organisms from the activated sludge of living waste water treatment plant and chemical wastewater treatment plants were used to remove the toluene.Aeromicrobi?m,Microbacteri?m and Brachybacteri?m and other bacteria were screened out and the fungi were Aspergillus and Penicilli?m.The experiment discovered the microbial biofilm time was 4-5d.When the film was stable,the raw toluene waste gas with the concentration of 1000mg/m3 co?Ld be removed 80% though uniform experiment of bio-trickling filter.The nonionic surfactant TritonX-100 was improved to reduce the toxicity to microorganisms.Orthogonal experimental design was adopted to explore the affection of the concentration of nitrogen source(NO3-),antibiotics,surfactant,ferric salt,other with p H,temperature and liquid spray flow on the reactor operation,the suitable operation condition of bio-trickling filter was confirmed.The experimental res?Lts showed that the raw toluene gas concentration of 1000mg/m3,the outlet concentration co?Ld reach to 115mg/m3 with countercurrent air inlet,on the other hand,the outlet concentration co?Ld reach to 196mg/m3 with the downstream air inlet.The raw toluene gas concentration of 400mg/m3,the outlet concentration co?Ld reach the national emission standards,60mg/m3,either with the countercurrent or downstream operation mode.
