In this dissertation,we have selected three organic ligands for construction of novel metal-coordination complexes which are based on heterocyclic thioamide group,viz.4-thiophene-2-mercaptopyrimidine(L1),4-(4-pyridyl)-2-mercaptopyrimidine(L2),4-(3-Pyridyl)-2-mercaptopyrimidine(L3).Reactions of these ligands with different metal ions under different conditions resulted in 10 structurally different metal-coordination complexes.X-ray single crystal diffractometer,IR,PXRD,UV-Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy were used to study and discuss their synthesis,structures and properties in details.The main work of the dissertation is as follows.Complexes(1)-(10)based on LI-L3 ligands:[Ag2(L1)2(L1')2](1),[Cu6(L1)6]·2DMF(2),[Cd(L1)2(L1')]CH3CH2OH(3),([Zn(L1)2]n(4),[Co(L1)2(L1")](5),{[Ni(L2)2]·2(DMF)}n(6),{[Cu2(L2)2]·2(DMF)}n(7),[CuBr(3-ppds)]n(8),[Ni(L3)2]n(9),[Zn(L3)2]n(10).Complexes(1)-(3)and(5)are discrete structures and(4)shows a 1-D infinite chain structure;Ligand L1 shows eight coordination modes due to the presence of thiol-thione tautomerization.Complex(6)shows a two-dimensional(2-D)layered structure having a 4-linked sql topology and complex(7)shows is a(2-D)layered structure with a 4-linked sql topology based on Cu14S4 cluster.Complex(8)is a 2-D coordination polymer with a 63-hcb topology;Complex(9)possesses a two-fold interpenetrated 3D network comprising two identical networks with dia topology;Complex(10)is a two-dimensional lattice structure with a 4-connected sql topology.Complex(2)exhibits a strong red fluorescence that is expected to be a candidate for optics.Complex(9)has the ability of fluorescence recognition of Fe3+ ions and 2,4-dinitrophenol and p-nitrophenol,and has high selectivity,stability and recyclability.This complex can be used to detect Fe3+ ion and nitro explosives as luminescent chemical sensor,which is expected to become a new class of fluorescent probe materials.
