In order to meet the requirements of rapid drying of heavy-duty coatings at roomtemperature which used on heavy duty mechanical equipment,this paper focuses on the preparation of epoxy modified water-borne alkyd resin by dual double curing method.First,The maleic anhydride linseed oil was prepared by linseed oil and maleicanhydride at low reaction temperature in this thesis.The reaction conditions were studied,The results showed that 2-methylpropionitrile used as initiator,the reaction temperature was 80?,the reaction time is 1.5h,m?linseed oil?:m?maleic anhydride?:m?2-methylpropionitrile?=20:1:0.1,the high iodine value maleic anhydride linseed oil had good water solubility and good storage stability.Then.water-borne alkyd resin was synthesized by fatty acid method,usinglinoleic acid,phthalic anhydride,isophthalic acid,trimethylolpropane,dihydroxy methyl-propionic acid and maleic anhydride linseed oil as the main materials.The process and properties of the coating were studied,the results showed that the basic alkyd resin was prepared by the monment of the acid value fell to1015 mgKOHg-1which control the reaction temperature at 180?for about 2 h and preserving for1.5 h at temperature of 200?.When the temperature dropped to 90 degrees,maleic anhydride linseed oil was added,m?maleic anhydride?:m?basic alkyd resin?=12%16%:1,the preservation time of 1.5h,the excellent performance of waterborne alkyd resin was prepared.The properties of water-borne alkyd resin were follow:the drying time was 15h,the pencil hardness was H,the adhesion was 1,and salt water resistance was 24 hours without change.Last water-borne alkyd resin was modified by epoxy resin to prepare duallyambient-curable epoxy modified water-borne alkyd resin,The process and properties of the coating were studied,the results showed that tetrabutylammonium bromide used as catalyst,m?E-20?:m?waterborne alkyd resin?=15%20%:1.tetrabutylammonium bromide was 0.4%,the reaction temperature was 90?,the reaction time is 1h,the excellent performance of epoxy modified water-borne alkyd resin was prepared.The properties of water-borne alkyd resin were follow:table dry for 2h,hard work for 11h,pencil hardness of 2H,the adhesion of 0,salt water resistance was 24 hours without change.
