This paper adopted brush plating technology to generate nickel and iron base composite coating.The composition,structure and integrated performance of coating were studied by SEM,EDS,XRD,TEM,metallographic test,micro-hardness,friction and wear experiment,bonding strength test,residual stress test and nano-indentation experiment etc.Take advantage of fiber force produced by fiber deformation in the process of the brush plating to explore the effect of different fiber force on the performance of brush plating coating.Besides we explored the effects of fiber absorbent,heat dissipation properties on the brush plating by changing the fiber material at the same time.As for iron base coating,in view of theproblem that iron base brush plating with large residual stress and high crack density,we make the best of the rare earth which presents the special properties of the surface active elements to explore the influence of different kinds of rare earth on the brush plating coating.On this basis of above work,we explored the influence of different rare earth content on the properties of brush plating coatingby adjusting the content of rare earth cerium element in brush plating solution.Due to the poorcorrosion resistance of iron brush coating and bad stability of the plating solution,the iron base compositecoating were prepared under the condition of magnetic field.The comprehensive performance,experimental phenomena and mechanism of experiment has been discussed.Result shows that by adopting different lengths of fiber as plating solution carrier could increase the deposition rate,reduce the crack density and improve the hardness of coating.Adding certain kinds of rare earth elements to iron base brush plating solution,thecoating surface morphology became denser,thecoating hardness and wear resistance improved and the nature of residual stress changed.By adjusting the content of rare earth,the brush plating comprehensive performance is not increased with the increasing rare earth.Under the condition of magnetic field,by adding certain content low electrode potential zinc in the plating solution,iron base composite brush plating was generated which presets high hardness and better wear resistance,crack density almost disappeared,the corrosion resistance of the plating and comprehensive performance has been improved obviously.
