Study on sound simulation technique of musical instrument is a research subject including the knowledge of acoustics,mathematics,computer software and signal processing.The main objective of sound simulation is to achieve the reproduction of music by making physical characteristics of the real instrument sound as the prototype.With the continuous integration of computer technology in the field of music,the sound simulation of musical instrument is becoming a focused research in the field of sound synthesis technology currently,which is of great significance to promote the development of multimedia technology and electro-acoustic instrument industry.In this paper,different kinds of the sound simulation techniques have been introduced.And the piano instrument is used as the research material.On the theoretical basis of analyzing the physical structure and sound mechanism of the instrument and on the mathematical basis of analyzing the twelve-tone equal temperament and the string vibration equation,a new digital piano sound simulation technique is proposed by analyzing piano string vibration and damping characteristics and investigating the resonance effect of resonance box.The simulation model consists of two parts:the excitation system and the resonance system.Based on simulation of the string vibration by sum of products of a series of sine wave in this model,the timbre is modified from two aspects of time domain and frequency domain respectively.Firstly,in order to simulate the natural attenuation of the string vibration,the envelope modification in the time domain is carried out according to the envelope function obtained by the amplitude envelope of the short-time rms energy extraction.Secondly,the instrument timbre is mainly derived from the modification of the resonator.The spectrum envelope is the main embodiment of the resonator.The filter group is modeled by spectrum envelope of the piano music extracted through cepstrum in frequency domain to achieve the simulation of resonance system.In this paper,we verify the proposed music system simulation model by specific experiments.The results show that this technique can not only make music harmonious between the notes and carve voice more effectively,but also perform timbre better and make the sound more harmonious,more close to the real instrument.
