Gradienter is a kind of very important instrument using for level measurement.Bubble gradienter has the characteristics of intuition and high reliability,which is the most classic of all kinds of gradienters,and is the most widely used.With the country’s attention to science and technology,all aspects of the society are turning better and better,the detection accuracy and automatization are increasingly required.In order to apply traditional bubble gradienter to field of technology,it is necessary to improve the degree of automation and the accuracy of the data.In this paper,a new kind of two-dimensional level instrument based on image detection is developed.Accurate reading is realized by the image processing insteads of the manual reading.The automatic calibration is realized by the rotation of bubble platform drived by a motor.The data can be displayed on the Android mobile terminal,thus the level instrument can allow the operator to avoid danger existing in some occasion and can be used in the situation where the operators can’t reach.Firstly,the development status of the gradienter and image sensor is analyzed,and the significance of the design is clarified.Then this paper puts forward the design scheme,and provides the mechanical structure.The major hardware modules of the two-dimensional gradienter are selected and the hardware platform is established.Secondly,based on the embedded Linux operating system,the kernel is configured,cutting and transplanting.The software modules of the two-dimensional gradienter instrument are designed including the image acquisition,Wi-Fi communication,LED lighting and motor rotation.Image detection is the key to getting horizontal data.In the whole image processing process,the image format should be converted first of all.After the gray-scale conversion and threshold segmentation preprocessing,the Hough transform is applied to detect the center and the radius of the bubble.Finally,application software is developed on Android operation system and the wireless networks are used to send the horizontal data to the Android mobile client.The entire system is assemblied and debugged.The two-dimensional level instrument ultimately realized the expected functions.The whole detection device has the advantages of high reading precision and high automatization,and it has great significance in the practical application.
