Laser Deposition Manufacturing(LDM)is a technique that forms solid parts by melting alloy powder using high-energy density laser so as to rapidily solidifying molten alloy powder layer by layer.The planning of laser scanning path has a significant influence on the forming quality and efficiency of the laser deposition.This paper studies on the auxiliary programming and motion simulation system of curving surface in LDM.Firstly,a scanning path planning algorithm with curve-featured based on STL triangular mesh model is proposed.Geodesic on triangular meshe is solved according to the definition of geodesic,and the algorithm of parallel lines of geodesic and the global scan path generation are put forward.Secondly,the structure analysis and kinematics solution of the LDM-3000 five axis double turntable CNC laser deposition manufacturing equipment are carried out.The scanning path post processing algorithm is studied,and the correctness of the post processing algorithm is verified on the virtual machine tool.Then the auxiliary programming system of laser deposition manufacture is designed through object oriented programming.This system realizes the function of scanning path planning,and it can display the triangular mesh model and scan path through OpenGL graphics technology.the NC code is generated through trajectory data with its post process.At last,the reasonableness of the path of the snake shaped reciprocating scan is verified by an example test.Then the motion simulation function module of the five axis double turntable numerical control laser deposition manufacturing process is realized on the CATIA V5 platform by using the secondary development technology of CAA C++.This module include the digital modeling of the equipment,the reading and analysising of NC files,the motion control and simulation of the equipment,the tracking display of scanning trajectory and collision detection of equipment.Finally,the application test is carried out.The results show that the scanning forming NC code generated through the auxiliary programming system can accurate drive the deposition manufacturing equipment.The motion process of the field equipment is exactly the same as the motion process of the virtual equipment in the motion simulation system.The forming quality of the test parts meets the normal technical requirements.
