The development of new high energy density fuels from the laboratory to the application of the aircraft engine needs a large number of practical research work,including a comprehensive physical and chemical performance data testing and applicability verification.Based on the successful development of high energy density HD-03 fuel and improved HD-03-I fuel,this paper has tested the basic physicochemical properties of new fuels to provide theoretical data for fuel application and studied the compatibility of new fuels with common materials to provide a basis for the practical application.This paper studies the testing methods of physicochemical properties of new fuels.First,the density,kinematic viscosity,surface tension,thermal oxidation stability and dielectric constant of the fuel were tested over a wide temperature range using standard methods and instruments.In addition,according to the test principle,a series of devices were designed to test the saturated vapor pressure,thermal conductivity,specific heat capacity,thermal cracking stability,saturated water solubility and other properties of the new fuel.According to the test results,the changes of the physicochemical properties of the new fuel under the wide temperature / pressure are obtained,and the calculation formula is fitted to the change rule to provide the key theoretical parameters for the follow-up application of the new fuel.This paper also studies the compatibility of new fuels with common metal materials.Through metal compatibility test,the compatibility of two kinds of new fuels with stainless steel,aluminum alloy and titanium alloy was studied by comparing the two kinds of fuels of active jet fuel RP-3 and HD-01.By comparing the change of metal surface and the change of fuel properties before and after the compatibility test,it is proved that the two kinds of new fuels have good compatibility with the three kinds of metal materials.The compatibility of the new fuel with the four rubber materials was studied.The compatibility of the fuel with nitrile rubber,hydrogenated nitrile rubber,silicone rubber and fluorosilicone rubber was investigated by simulating the long time of contact with the rubber at room temperature by simulating the experiment with high temperature immersion.Comparing the compatibility of active jet fuel HD-01 with rubber material,the conclusion is as follows: the change of nitrile rubber's comprehensive performance is the smallest at the same time and temperature;fluorosilicone rubber's performance is most stable and changes the least with time;silicone rubber's physical-mechanical performance is significantly weakened and has the worst compatibility;the same kind of rubber changes the same for the three kinds of fuel and the degree of tolerance is quite same.Through compatibility test of the new fuel with metal and rubber material,this work provides a theoretical basis for the new fuel's feasibility in the application of engine.
