This study comes from the cooperation between Citic Dicastal Co.,Ltd.and Tianjin Pumps and Machinery Group Co.,Ltd.which aimed a high temperature liquid aluminum transfer pump’s developing.The transfer pump can be used for reforming the GIMA low-pressure casting machines in Citic Dicastal Co.,Ltd.Also,the study can give the experimental verification about labyrinth screw pump in liquid aluminum transferring.After researching in the traditional process of Aluminum wheel-hub low pressure casting filling,some disadvantages were found,such as liquid surface waving in sprue tube,gas-containing taken by compressed air,or low accuracy of filling control.Although the processes like the Cosworth Process was helped by electromagnetic pump in filling,but it was still too much difficulties,energy exhausted,low pressures and high cost.Labyrinth screw pump was considered to be a better choice for the filling process,cause of low special speed,much simple structure,lower cost and easy to be maintain or replace.The main works and results are:Research the existing filling processes of aluminum wheel-hub low pressure casting,and find out the disadvantages.The research found that,the electromagnetic pump in the Cosworth Process was not good enough.Based on the literature and experience of designer,the study gave some pumping schemes,such as centrifugal pump,electromagnetic pump,screw pumps and labyrinth screw pump.When the feasibility analysis was finished,labyrinth screw pump was decided to be the No.1 scheme,and the double screw pump was the alternatives.Calculated the hydraulic performance,thread parameters and the structures,design the prototype by mature design method.Draw the general assembly and parts.Make a Prototype of labyrinth screw pump,of which rotor was made up of 16MnCrS5,3D printing stator was made up of photosensitive resin,case and inlet,outlet were all made up of Q235-A.According to the similarity principle,hydraulic experiment pumped the water instead of liquid aluminum.And finally proved the correctness of theoretical calculation and design.According to the error analysis,we give a suggestion of optimization.
