Road engineering plays an important role in promoting social development and regional economic growth. It is also a hard-hit area for resource consumption and pollutant discharge. The environmental pollutants produced during its life cycle cause certain health damages and economic losses to people. The current research on the evaluation of human health damage in road engineering mainly focuses on the qualitative study of damage. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a quantitative study on the health impact caused by pollutant discharge. In this study, the life cycle assessment theory is used to calculate the energy consumption and health impacts of road engineering. The process is divided into three stages:raw material production, construction, and maintenance demolition. The results show that:?1?In the production stage of road raw materials, energy consumption and health damage factors are the largest, resulting in the greatest damage to human health and the highest total economic losses. The second is the construction phase, and the last is the maintenance and demolition phase.?2?The process with the greatest willingness to pay for health damage in the construction phase is raw material transportation, followed by asphalt mixture mixing;in which, asphalt mixture construction has higher social willingness to pay than the cement stability mixture construction caused by 7.97%.?3?Among the social payment willingness values of the unit health damage factors,PM10caused the largest economic loss, followed by SO2 and NO2.SimaPro software was used to evaluate the environmental impacts of various stages of the typical road engineering in Zhengzhou City, determine the main impact phases and influencing factors of health damage, and calculate the social payment willingness value for impacts of environmental emissions at each stage. At the same time,it validates the feasibility and practicality of the theoretical model of human health impact, and provides reasonable suggestions for energy conservation and emission reduction of road engineering and reduction of human health impact.
