Because of its simple structure,high grade efficiency,strong environmental adaptability,good extraction effect and so on,the mixer-settler is widely used in the rare earth extraction industry.At present,the research on the rare earth extraction industry has achieved significant development.Domestic and foreign Researchers designed different clarifying chamber for internal structures,which only improved the clarification effect via extending the path of the clarifying chamber,failed to break through the limitations of two-phase separation under gravity.And there are still a large area,a large amount of material storage and other issues.To solve these problems,this paper designs a clarifying chamber structure with great clarification effect and clarification time via adding a stirring paddle in the clarifying chamber.In this paper,a 200 L extraction is taken as research prototype.We shortens the length of the clarifying chamber,adds a stirring paddle,and establishes a three-dimensional model of the clarifying chamber via Solid Works.Water and P507 are utilized as the water phase and the organic phase,respectively.FLUENT,a software,is utilized to simulate the clarifying process of the clarifying chamber.The dispersion thickness,clarification time,and the content of the two-phase outlet impurities are utilized as the evaluation indicators to research the effect on the clarification efficiency and clarification effect,which provide provide reference for the research of clarifying chamber structure.Based on comparing adding stirring paddle with no stirring paddle in the clarifying chamber,the analysis showed that the dispersion zone of the stirring paddles added in the clarifying chamber had a small thickness,less impurities at the outlet,a high clarification rate,and a good clarification effect.Based on these On the basis of these situations,the effects of different stirring paddle types,heights at the bottom and stirring speeds on the clarifying effect were studied.The clarification process of different stirring paddles in the chamber was simulated,the variation in the thickness of the dispersion zone and the impurity content at the exit of the clarifying chamber was analyzed.The two-phase volume distribution map and the dispersion thickness curve are obtained.Comprehensive Combined clarification time and clarification effects,the best clarification impeller type,stirring paddle height from the bottom,and stirring speed are designed.In the process of production,the inlet speed of the clarifying chamber of theextraction tank need to meet different requirements.In view of this,this paper simulates the clarification process for different inlet velocities.According to the analysis,the inlet velocity has a great influence on the clarification process.When the inlet velocity is too large,the distribution of the dispersion zone is very chaotic,the impurity content at the outlet is large,and the clarification effect is not good.Therefore,the entrance velocity must be kept in a certain range.In addition,this paper also simulates and analyzes the different stirring speeds of different inlet speed requirements.We obtains that the optimal rotation speeds for different inlet speed requirements are different,and the optimal stirring speed corresponding to different inlet speeds is determined.Based on actual production,the research results of this paper are obtained via numerical simulation of CFD technology.They have not yet been put into practical production.The purpose is to provide basis for the production and design of clarifying chamber.
