Simulation Researches About Multiphase Wax Deposition In Pipelines With OLGA

Wax deposition of waxy crude oil in flow assurance has been closely watched.With the increasing exploration of deepwater oil fields,wax deposition in multiphase flow will become the hot topics in the research of scholars both at home and abroad.In this paper,the transient simulation software OLGA is mainly used to simulate wax deposition under the oil/gas two-phase.The accuracy of software is analyzed from three aspects.Firstly,the simulation of wax deposition in the small flow loop in lab is carried out.The accuracy of simulator is analyzed by comparing the results with experimental results.Secondly,as the limitations of operation conditions of test loop,the experimental results can't describe the wax deposition law in practical pipeline well.Thus,the simulation of wax deposition under some particular working conditions in practical pipelines is also carried out.The software is also analyzed from the mechanism of the model.Furthermore,the sensitivity analysis is implemented from pipeline operation parameters and model parameters.The influential results of all kinds of factors on wax deposition law are concluded.Finally,PVTsim is used to simulate wax deposition in pipeline.Through comparing with the results of OLGA,the advantages and disadvantages of these two simulators are discussed.Some conclusions are obtained through a series of simulations.The Matzain model in OLGA simulates well both on deposition law and weight.The Heat Analogy model also has a good simulation,however,the Matzain model simulates better than the Heat Analogy model.The simulation results of RRR model in OLGA and DepoWax model in PVTsim have big error,when compared with the actual results.In addition,shortages and some need to improve about the models of each software are put forward.
