The difficulty in optimized operation of a gas pipeline network with circuits is to optimize the flow rate distribution in network.As more and more circuit structures and parallel pipelines systems appear in trunk gas pipeline network in China,it is of practical significance to do research on optimization techniques for natural gas networks with circuit structures.The essay decomposes the problem into two sub-problems: optimizing network pressure with assigned flow rates and optimizing flow rate distribution.NDP technique is applied to solve the pressure optimization sub-problem.Method Based on Basic Circuit Combination(MBBCC),firstly proposed to solve the flow rate optimization problem in this paper,is compared with Greedy Algorithm,Minimum Cost Flow Method and Optimality Judgment Method and confirmed better.The essence of MBBCC is defining fuel costs reduction feasible domain by basic circuit combinations and defining fuel cost as fitness function of GA to guide the search of optimal flow rate distribution in the domain to decrease the whole fuel cost.Based on NDP and MBBCC,an operation optimization software is developed for natural gas networks with circuits through MATLAB.The ‘West-East Gas Pipeline One-Shaanxi-Beijing Line Two and Line Three-Jining Link Line' network is used to prove the method and software performance.A method based on marginal fuel cost is proposed to judge whether the flow rate distribution is optimal for a simple circuit.
