Natural gas is one of the foremost high quality and sanitary energy sources. Gas transmission pipeline network is the artery connecting natural gas resource and market. But it is very vast in fuel cost based on operation of gas transmission pipeline network system and cannot effective in economizing energy sources and reducing consumption. It is indispensable to do a research on optimization operation of gas transmission pipeline network system in order to take from operational cost. The paper applies oil &gas pipeline transmission theory and optimization technology to do analysis on steady-state operation of gas transmission pipeline network system. We set up the model of minimizing fuel consumption of compressor stations in a steady-state gas transmission pipeline network, and integrate graph theory to reduce topology structure of gas pipeline networks. The paper introduces the two-step iterative method to solve the model. In a particular iterative, it should obtain initialization solution based on initialization solution search algorithm, as a first stage gas flow variables are fixed and optimal pressure variables are found via dynamic programming (DP). At the second stage, the pressure variables are fixed and an attempt is made to find a set of flow variables applying the minimizing cost flow theory that improve the objective function. Repeating the two-stage, the algorithm is end till finding the minimizing operational fuel cost of gas transmission pipeline networks systemThe paper does two numerical instances on tree and loop pipeline networks by Matlab software. As a result, it is suggestion that the method can save at least 21.13% operational cost by optimizing pipeline network operation. It is remarkable in economy benefit for the company of natural gas transmission. And this can solve energy sources tensity in some dgree for short energy sourcesin in our country.
