The importance of oil is self-evident to any country,so the effective oil extraction is worthy of attention.In the actual oil exploration,accidents often happened such as blowouts and kicks.The goal of this project is to study the flow of oil mud in the open channel to achieve early warning which can help to avoid serious losses.The measurement of the oil mud flow in an open channel is to obtain the two important physical quantities required to calculate the flow rate which are the speed and the distance.When the velocity of the fluid and the distance from the liquid surface to the ultrasonic probe are known,then you can calculate the real-time flow of open channel mud.In this paper,the advantages and disadvantages of several popular flowmeters on the market are introduced.Ultrasonic sensors are used to detect the open mud flow by comparing with each other.The reasons for the use of ultrasonic sensors are described in the text,and various characteristics of ultrasonic waves are introduced.Finally,by comparing various measurement methods using ultrasonic waves for distance measurement and velocity measurement,the doppler velocity measurement method was selected for fluid velocity and the transit time method was selected to measure the distance from the fluid surface to the ultrasonic probe.The different measurement schemes were designed for measuring the two physical quantities of speed and distance.As for the speed measurement,some hardware circuits are designed,the detection scheme and the speed measurement algorithm are proposed,and then the data collected after the circuit processing is analyzed by the computer.The experimental results verify the feasibility of the speed measurement scheme and the speed measurement algorithm.The scheme of the measurement for distance from the liquid surface to the probe was designed,and the software programming and hardware circuit design of the entire measurement was completed.The measurement data of the liquid surface distance of the open channel mud was obtained and the high-precision distance measurement was realized.Finally,the article calculates the flow rate depend on velocity measurement and distances measurement data,and confirms that the device designed can meet the actual needs.Then,the article proposes improvements ideas to the speed measurement part scheme and the distance measurement part,provides some solution ideas for questions and hopes to provide valuable reference plans and ideas for future research.
