| For outdoor public space environment, designers tend to focus on the plane layoutdesign, functional partition, traffic streamline, landscape design, etc. Seldom didthey pay attention to the design of the outdoor thermal environment and humanbody thermal comfort feeling. For an urban square space, especially in severe coldregion, the outdoor thermal environment directly determines the time people spendin the square and the utilization of the square. Thermal environment includingtemperature, humidity, sunshine, wind and other factors, this paper mainly studieswind environment of urban square. The wind environment is one of the importantfactors of thermal environment, which people can feel intuitively and physically.Wind of different speeds gives people different feelings. If designers don`t make agood prediction on the wind environment of an urban square, there may be harshwind environment occurring in some part of the square space.Firstly, this paper makes an outlook about the basic theory of wind environment inurban square, which including the wind environment of single building, thedifference of the distance between adjacent buildings and surrounding modes. Italso talks about people`s feelings and behavior to different wind environment andthe three kind of standard for assessing outdoor wind environment. Then accordingthe influence factors, this paper conducts some stimulating experiments aboutdifferent kinds of building layouts to see the conditions of wind environment ofeach mode. At last, this paper tries to propose some strategies about optimizing thewind environment of rectangular urban square in severe cold region.Through software simulation about wind environment of rectangular urban squarein severe cold region, we can get graphics of the results which can be shown todesigners clearly and visually. The writer myself hopes this paper may givedesigners some reference during their work so that the square the design will have abetter wind environment. |
