Architectural Design Based On Information Expression Of Specific Architectural Symbols

There are so many styles of public buildings today, and the theories related tothat are so microscopic. In this situation, I want to build a new system which aboutthe basic laws of building developing, and explain our complex architecturalphenomenon today with this new system. And try to summarize a new way for thefuture public buildings design.In the first part of my studying, I establish a new Architectural InformationSystem with comparing the Language System. After a comprehensive discussion ofthree basic elements of symbolic information system--Correspondence, Time Line,Limited. I have established a basic Architectural Symbol Information System, andfind some basic concepts of this system at the same time. In this paper, I also get alot of theorems about the relationship between the information expression and thearchitectural symbols. Such as the theory about the reason of specific informationsymbol generation, and Time Line Theory.After that, I use this new Architectural Information System to analyze thehistory of architecture development, and make a important conclusion thatinformation expression is the first element of public buildings. At the same, I havecaught the three principles of architectural symbol generation. After the discussionthe part of encoding information in architectural symbols, I begin to discuss the partof the human behavior of decoding architecture symbols which take specificinformation in them. I get the two basic rules of human decodingbehavior--acquisition and learning. With these two basic rules, I get two importanttheorems Principle of Degradation and Principle of Life Decoding HabitAfter a comprehensive study of the processes of architectural symbolsencoding and decoding, we finally divide today's public buildings into threespecies Structure Expression, Part Structure Expression, UnstructureExpression. And then, by studying these three species of public buildings, we findthe essence of public building.Based on the Architectural Information System, summarizing the researchbefore, we have got the basic theories about a new way of architecture design. As aexample, I design a new statistical methods for the beginning architecture design.So far, we have succeeded in establishing the Architectural Information System,and study one part of that system in depth. After that, we have succeeded in usingthose theorems to our practice of architectural design.
