With the rapid growth of economy in our country, bridge construction has entered a boom period. Orthotropic steel bridge deck system has been commonly used in the construction of steel box girder bridge with its advantage. However, there are some problems needing solved that have attracted lots of research from scholars at home and abroad, such as the cooperation deformation between steel deck and paving material. In recent years, independent research and development of resin asphalt combination system for the technology of steel bridge deck pavement has been used in many domestic bridges and achieved good effect. As the integration layer of this system, material performance of resin asphalt mixture is crucial. Based on the theory of surface energy, adhesion property between resin asphalt and wet aggregate is analyzed with theory analysis and experiment validation in the paper. Effect of aggregate moisture content on the properties of resin asphalt mixture is explored, and improvement measures of resin asphalt concrete water sensitivity are put forward.Performance of resin asphalt material was studied. Resin asphalt is cold mix asphalt material, whose performance is different from ordinary hot asphalt and the evaluation index is disparate, so the viscosity change law, workability and fracture strength of resin asphalt were explored through the test. Based on the theory of surface energy, adhesion property between resin asphalt and aggregate was analyzed and the results show that adhesive power between water and aggregate is greater than that between resin asphalt and aggregate. When there is water in aggregate, it is easier for the water to adhere with aggregate, which results the water film between resin asphalt and aggregate and influences overall performance of mixture. It also proves that resin asphalt has greater adhesion power with aggregate than matrix asphalt and SBS modified asphalt.Pavement performance of resin asphalt mixture was studied, including the allowed work time, water stability, high temperature stability, low temperature performance and so on. A set of test method for controlling the moisture content of aggregate was designed and the effect of moisture content on the pavement performance was explored, whose results indicate that with the increase of moisture content, pavement performance of mixture decreases at different levels.Quick lime was chosen as the best additive agent via experiment, and the effect of additive agent on improving the performance of mixture was explored according to the Marshall test, whose results show that lime can react with water to form calcium hydroxide after added, which improves the spalling resistance of mix. The best lime content corresponds to different moisture content. Less lime wipes off less water, while too much lime can lead to agglomerate, whose volume will expand and crack after encountering water. Equation for best dosage of lime was born through the combination of theory and experiment. Resin asphalt concrete water sensitivity improvement measures were put forward, and the structure layer construction process were studied.
