Strut and tie model is an effective way to analyze reinforced concrete structureswhich don’t accord with the plane-section assumption and the designed irregular andcomplicated concrete structures. At present, there were plenty of research findings onthe strut and tie model of RC deep beams under dead loading, but for deep beams anddeep beams with openings under moving loads was less. According to above, thispaper conducted the following works:(1) The method of ANSYS topology optimization can truly reflects the powertransmission path of the deep beams. The calculation method of shear capacity ofdeep beams based on strut and tie model was investigated by taking a simple deepbeam without hole for example. The reasonability of strut and tie model was alsoverified with the experimental results.(2) The establishment method of deep beams with openings using strut and tiemodel was studied under the moving loads. The results showed that the strut and tiemethod under the moving loads were constantly changing, so there is a mostunfavorable position of the moving loads, and the quantity of reinforcement, strengthof concrete or sectional dimension of beam could be confirmed by the maximumshear in the most unfavorable position. It also demonstrated that the strut and tiemodel of deep beams with openings can be created convenience though thetopological optimization.(3) The influence of opening position on the deep beams was investigated. Theresult shows that the shear transmission path varies as the opening position changing, but the force transmission path always bypass the opening, reinforcement should be strengthened around the opening on account of the concentration of stress. At last, strutand tie model was proposed based on the optimal topology optimization principles.
