Steel plate shear wall (SPSW)has large initial lateral rigidity, stable hystereticbehavior, good energy dissipation capacity and ductility, the advantages of which hasbeen studied by many domestic and foreign scholars. Semi-rigid frame withmulti-ribbed restriction steel plate shear walls was proposed in this paper as an excellentkind of new lateral resistant members. Multi-ribbed restriction performed well inrestraining the buckling of the steel plate shear walls to inhibit out-of-plane deformationof steel plate shear wall.At present, domestic and foreign research on this structure arerelatively few.Experimental study and numerical analysis were used in this paper to study theseismic behavior of semi-rigid frame with multi-ribbed restriction steel plate shear walls(SRF-MR-LSPSW), then a systematical analysis on mechanical performance ofmulti-ribbed restriction low yield point steel plate shear walls. The main research andconclusions are as follows:Firstly, an Experiment was carried out under low cyclic loading on semi-rigidframe with multi-ribbed restriction steel plate shear wall. The results showed that theSRF-MR-LSPSW has good ductility performances. Multi-ribbed restriction caneffectively inhibit out-of-plane deformation of steel plate shear wall, and improves thecarrying capacity, lateral rigidity and energy-dissipating capacity of the structure.Based on experimental study, finite element model of test specimen was built inthis paper. Compared finite element analysis results and the test results, the resultsindicate a good agreement. After that, special attention was paid on the variableparameter analysis, it showed that multi-ribbed restriction can improve mechanical behavior of structure well.The paper analyzed the influence between different bolts arrangement and themechanical properties of multi-ribbed steel plate shear walls. The ratio of maximumspacing of the connecting bolt and the plate thickness was also given.The paper also studied mechanical properties of SRF-MR-LSPSW in differentmodes of opening holes. The results showed that multi-ribbed structure of filled steelplate can reduce the stiffness requirements of edge member.At last this paper has investigated the hysteretic behavior of SRF-MR-LSPSW.Results indicate that the hysteresis loop of SRF-SR-LSPSW is fuller and the energydissipation capacity is better. The energy dissipation coefficient of low yield strengthsteel plate shear walls is greater than ordinary steel plate shear wall. TheSRF-MR-LSPSW has good seismic behavior and is suitable for application in highearthquake fortification intensity regions.
