Research On The Evolution Of Rural Space In Peri-urban Areas

Since the China's reform and opening in 1978,the process of urbanization has developed rapidly,on the one hand the urbanization rate has reached 1%per year,on the other hand,the expansion of city construction space is swift and violent.In this process,rural area,especially the town areas and their surroundings has been impacted by urban expansion,which cause reconstruction of the traditional rural area.The research on rural settlements is popular inland,also is the research on the suburban area.But the research about rural settlement spatial evolution on the suburban area is actually rare.Therefore,this paper is focus on the rural settlement spatial evolution on the suburban area,it tries to summarize its characteristic,and analysis deeply on the characteristics and mechanism,a proper suggestion is also raised in the end,to provide reference for the development of town areas and their surroundings.Based on the view of Spatial evolution,this paper has empirical investigations on the surroundings areas beside the Bowang town,using macro data,questionnaires,interviews with residents and other research methods.The paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 is to elaborate research background,propose research questions,research status and method.Chapter 2 can be divided into two parts,the literature review is based on four aspects,rural settlements?villages within the city?urban fringe and the development of peripheral rural area,evaluation is also given on the existing research.Chapter 3 has investigated the evolution process and characteristic of the rural space of the suburban area from three aspects,spatial framework.space function and internal space.The research is based on empirical investigation of cases.Chapter 4 is the analysis of space evolution mechanism of the rural space,summits up the dynamic mechanism of the rural settlement spatial evolution on the suburban area from economy,residents' behavior,regime and individual aspects.Chapter 5 raises up the development trend and counterplan of the rural space,including the analysis and thinking about the existing practice on the rural space of suburban area.Chapter 6 is the conclusion and discussion of the paper,to answer the questions posed at the beginning of the paper,summarize the main conclusions of the study,and point out the lack of research,and then look to the future of research directions.
