Research On The Peri-urbanization Of Wuhan Suburban Based On Theory Of Production Of Space

As the urbanization rate reached 52.6% in 2012, China has formally entered into the “Urban era”. However, with the rapid development of urbanization accompanied remarkable peri-urbanization phenomenon, especially in metropolitan suburbs in central China. This paper takes Wuhan distant suburban areas as the research objects, introduces the theory of production of space, builds a new research framework appropriate for peri-urbanization, summaries the urbanization factors and studies the dynamic mechanism based on the theory of production of space, and tends to conclude the transition path and strategies to completely urbanization in Wuhan suburban.This paper is includes six chapters, setting up 3 main sections, accordance with the clue “Characteristics Analysis” —“Dynamic mechanism ” —“Urbanization strategies”.The first part is “Characteristics Analysis”, which included five main aspects: Land usage、Space expansion 、Population urbanization 、Economic development and Public service configuration.Based on the analysis, it also sums up the main contradictions between the present situation and urbanization development needs.The second part is “Dynamic mechanism ”, which is based on the theory of production of space. It analyses three aspects: Space-time background(Space production platform)、 Space producers、Space production mechanism, and studies the essence and dynamic mechanism of Peri-urbanization in metropolitan suburbans in central China.The final part is “Urbanization strategies”, which is summed up based on the characteristics of the present situation analysis and dynamic mechanism research. The transition strategies includes three aspects: Space production platform transition、Space producers’ role transition and Space production mechanism transition. And the urbanization path study includes fiver parts: Land usage、Space expansion、Population urbanization、Economic development and Public service configuration. It puts forward analysises of different paths to complete urbanization.
