Boilers are used widely in chemical industry,pharmacy,printing and dyeing industry and food industry as the thermal equipment in our country.The boilers consume 40 percent of the energy consumed by our country,but the boilers in our country are inefficient in their energy use and backward in management,especially the industrial boilers.It will have great significance in improving the energy utilization efficiency of the boilers and making the boilers running efficiently by using the remote monitoring to build the feedback mechanism to collect,gather and analyze the key data about the energy conservation of the industrial boilers.We found that the energy efficiency of coal-fired industrial boilers have a large room for improvement and lack of effective supervision and attention by studying the current situation of the boilers and testing on the energy utilization efficiency of the boilers during 2010 to2013 in a city.So it will have a good social and economic value if a remote monitoring system for energy saving is developed for improving the energy utilization efficiency of the boilers.The remote monitoring system consists of transducer,control cabinet,server and the network transmission equipment,it monitors and collects the data of the pressure 、temperature、water stage、exhaust gas temperature and the calorific capacity of fuel in real time by PLC.The remote monitoring system can analyze and calculate the energy efficiency of the boilers to make sure that the boilers remain running in an ideal energy-saving state.We selected 2 boilers which have installed the system,1 gas-fired boiler and 1 coal-fired boiler for the test which was used to verify the operation status of this facility.We found that the steam-gas boiler’s thermal efficiency(positive balance)increased from 62.66% to 69.51%and the coal-firedsteam boiler’s thermal efficiency(counter balance)increased from 65.26%to 73.54% after the system installed.The system has been proved to be functional through thiscomparison test.
