The subway operation, ventilation and air conditioning system accounts for the most of power consumption. Although its investment has a proportion of 8%~10% of the construction investment, its power consumption has a proportion of 40%-50% of the total, which closely relate to subway operating economy. Through analyzing design and energy consumption of ventilation and air conditioning system in metro with shielded gate, there are lots of problems. Subway energy saving has great potential.According to this, the paper focused on subway ventilation and air conditioning system, which consisted of huge system (the station hall and platform environment control), small system (equipment management room environment control), tunnel ventilation system(tunnel temperature control), and water system (refrigeration and air conditioning circulating water system). Because cool load of equipment management room has a low ratio of the whole, and small system energy consumption is lower compared with huge system, the paper mainly focused on the huge system, tunnel ventilation system, and water system with energy saving.To realize ventilation and air conditioning system operated with low energy consumption, the subject applied to practical project based on actual engineering, in the way of field research, field test, diagnostic analysis, and discussing energy saving strategy and energy saving system design as well.The paper creatively proposed five energy saving models as below, called’cooling model switch control’,’exhaust sending model switch control’,’fan automatic frequency conversion control’,’cold source efficiency optimization’,and ’tunnel heat removal fan optimization control’, based on current problems of the railway station. Also, it came up an energy saving system meeting process demand.Take Beijing metro line 8 at Forest Park South station for example, which was applied energy saving strategy, comprehensive energy saving rate is higher than 40%, having a great guiding significance on ventilation and air conditioning system’s economy.
