The suspender, as one of the important elements of the half through and through arch bridges, is vulnerable to corroded and cumulative fatigue damage, and even to abrupt breakage in ultimate conditions, which may affect the structural safety. In this paper, based on actual project, relying on cidu Bridge in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, combined with a large number of literature and the related research results at home and abroad, through field monitoring and numerical simulation of engineering analysis and the method of combining the stiffening steel girder bridge which is adopted to reinforce, ANSYS finite element analysis model is set up, study around the suspender damage and breakage. In this paper, the main research contents and results are as follows:(1) Based on the axial force of Suspender Damage Mechanism and Suspender Damage Process of tensile stress evolution theory, suspender damage is simulated as the suspender sectional area reduction(broken wire number increases), analysis of the suspender damage after the boom system redistribution of internal force of the overall trend, and study a piece or a plurality of Suspender Damage of full bridge steeve tension system of distribution.(2) Discussed the advantages and disadvantages of various methods to simulate boom breaking, and the selection of reasonable nonlinear dynamic simulation method, through the establishment of ANSYS finite element model, to carry out the comprehensive parameter analysis, the influence of the value of the value that is the boom fracture duration, fracture position, derrick fracture number and fracture sequence of different structural member DAF and DCR were studied.(3) As the result of the boom rupture, the impact of the same to the adjacent boom is notable, and the capacity of the boom to resist damage is in turn: S7#>S4#>S1#. So the damage safety analysis of the S1# suspender and the S7# suspender were selected. At the same time, to the replacement of the new suspender bridge reinforcement based, finite element analysis model is established and selected S6#, S7# and S8# boom step by step fault condition of suspender chain breaking analysis, and with the original boom analysis data comparison and inquiry of suspender replacement before and after breaking safety performance.
