The concrete block construction is developing rapidly at present, and the concrete vertical-hole hollow blocks are widely used. But the vertical-hole blocks have some shortcomings during use, such as poor heat preservation and insulation performance, poor seepage control performance and difficulties in piping layout. These unfavorable factors lead to the function of concrete block constructions damaged and bring people obstacles on mental and sensory. In view of a series of problems of vertical-hole hollow block, this paper proposes a new horizontal-hole hollow concrete block. This new type of block has many advantages by unique structure design, such as impermeability, crack resistance, convenient layout of the pipelines and so on. This thesis conducts a preliminary research on the relationships between the compressive strength of the nominal concrete and the block and the relationships between the compressive strength of the block and the masonry. And it studies the compressive strength of the blocks with different leveling way. The main research contents are as follows:First of all, the thesis obtains the formula of the relationship between the compressive strength of the block and the nominal concrete by the compression test of blocks made of different nominal concrete compressive strength. In addition, it compares the compressive strength of the horizo ntal-hole hollow concrete block in this test and the old. And it shows that the compressive strength of the horizontal-hole hollow concrete block is improved by the melioration of the material.Secondly, it makes a study of the relationship between the compressive strength of the block and the masonry by the compression test of the masonry made of blocks with different compressive strength. The research shows that the standard formula is not applied to the new horizontal-hole hollow concrete block masonry. And then the reasonable average compressive strength formula of the masonry is suggested through the analysis of the data obtained in this test.Thirdly, it conducts a research on the blocks with different leveling way and studies what effects it made on the blocks' compressive strength. The experimental results show that the difference of compressive strength is bigger among blocks adopted different leveling way.Finally, this paper makes finite element simulation analysis of the blocks with different surface treatment methods by ABAQUS. And it obtains the blocks' bearing capacity value and stress distribution. Then it compares finite element simulation analysis results with test results. And it turns out that the two results are closed. Thus, the numerical model is accuracy. It provides theory basis for further research of the new horizontal-hole hollow concrete block and masonry.
