The wall material has been used widely in the construction industry, but the traditional wall material has shortcomings such as large waste of land resources, high energy consumption, environmental pollution, high bulk density, poor insulation and so on. With the development of society, people's requirements for new wall materials which have more outstanding performances and environmental producting ways are ever-growing. Concrete horizontal-hole hollow block was created as a new wall material which adapted to the the national policies and the demands of the society. It possesses a lot of palmary performances such as energy and land conservation, crack resistance, seepage prevention, light weight, heat-preserving, environment-protecting, short construction time etc, and won recognitions from society and industry. Our studying team have done experimental studies about many performances of concrete horizontal-hole hollow block. This paper will do researches in height-thickness ratio's effects on concrete horizontal-hole hollow block masonry's compressive performance, based on the the existed achievements. The specific work of this paper are as follows:(1)The block, standard block masonry, mortar have been made for compressive strength tests.(2)The axial static load tests were done on three concrete horizontal-hole hollow block masonries with the same thickness and different height-thickness ratioes. The crack changing, sign of failure, destructional form, cracking load, carrying capacity, deformability, out of plane displacement and stability effects of different height-thickness ratioes on concrete horizontal-hole hollow block masonries were compared and analysed.(3)The axial static load tests were done on three concrete horizontal-hole hollow block masonries with the same height-thick Ness ratio and different thick Nesses. The crack changing, sign of failure, destructional form, cracking load, carrying capacity, deformability, out of plane displacement and stability effect of different thick Nesses on concrete horizontal-hole hollow block masonries were compared and analysed.(4) The carrying capacity of every test specimen was calculated accordingto the specification for masonry and compared with the test value. Applicability of specification for masonry for the concrete horizontal-hole hollow block masonry was analysed.(5)Suggestions were put forward to studying team'follow-up researches.Construction suggestions were also put forward according to the problems which happened in the process of test-pieces making.
