Climate warming and the depletion of fossil fuels are two problems that threaten the sustainable development of society. Countries around the world work together to address global climate warming, reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, development and utilization of clean energy instead of traditional energy sources is the trend. In order to achieve substantive effect response to climate warming, we need to explore measures that can significantly reduce greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide emissions in human activity. Carbon capture from ambient air directly as a new thing, its related technologies in the initial phase of the study, and there is no experience of large-scale application and practice. Solar, wind and other renewable energy resources are abundant, the processing of development and utilization is almost no pollution to the environment. Using renewable energy drive carbon capture devices to capture carbon from ambient air is an alternative way to address global climate warming and depletion of fossil fuels. Therefore, the study of capture carbon dioxide from ambient air driven by renewable energy is a significant task. Aiming at this problem, the works of this paper are shown as follows.First, this paper analyzes the principles of using renewable energy to capture carbon from ambient air. According to the characteristics of the renewable energy output which is intermittent, volatility, combining the nature of the air carbon capture devices, the main way of using renewable energy to carbon capture from ambient air has been proposed. By analyzing the energy consumption of carbon capture devices, estimating the potential of using renewable energy to carbon capture from ambient air.Then, the method for analyzing the output distribution characteristic of planning power and operation power is proposed, By analyzing the relationship between power output distribution characteristics and carbon capture installation capacity, the carbon capture device's capacity optimization configuration model which is based on the lifecycle has been proposed. Through simulation analysis, the fact that the power output distribution characteristics has great influence on carbon capture devices capacity configuration is verified.Finally, the method of measuring carbon capture device's time elasticity of load and the measures of improving carbon capture device's time elasticity of load are proposed, and the carbon capture devices dispatching model which based on the time elasticity of load is established, and using an example to verify the effects of load dispatching on carbon capture efficiency.This paper focuses on the air carbon capture devices driven by renewable energy, studies capacity configuration and optimization scheduling strategy of carbon capture device. The research show that the power output distribution characteristics has an important impact on the carbon capture capacity configuration, and the flexible operation mode of carbon capture devices is conducive to improve carbon capture device efficiency. The work can provide a reference for future carbon capture equipment planning and operation.
