The viscous damper is widely acclaimed in engineering field for it's user-friendly and superior reliablity,so it's widely used in multilayer structueres and high-rise buildings,but the energy dissipation performance of dampers usually depend on interlayer displacements of structures.For the fact that the integral stiffness of high-rise structure is enormous, and the limits of interlayer displacement in the Chinese codes are small,the energy dissipation effect of viscous damper is quite inferior.The high-rise structure with damped rigid outrigger storys which was put forward by Jeremlah in 2006 has good seismic performance and has been used in engineering.However,there are few reports about the research of this structure.This paper through summarizing the excellent results of relevant domestic and foreign research,and conducting further research and analysis on this high-rise stucture form which could enlarge the interlayer displacement for the dampers,some useful conclusions for design are acquired.The major work accomplished in this thesis is shown as follows::(1)In this paper,the energy dissipation formula of one cycle of simple harmonic vibration for viscous damper has been derived.Based on it,the parameters of the selection method of viscous damper in the high-rise buiding is presented.(2)The amplification formula of inter-storey displacement for triangle form steel outriggers and the additional modal damping ratio formula of the high-rise building with damped rigid outriggers are presented.seismic performance for the structure with damped rigid outriggers is dependent on the distance of shear wall to outside frame column, storey height and the angle of viscous damper.(3)Assuming that the total damping coefficients and other parameters of single damper are unchanged,the seismic performance of high-rise buildings with different damping layers are compared.The results indicate that the total performance of the buildings with multiple damping layers is better.(4)Assuming that other parameters of single damper are unchanged,the rules of internal forces and displacements in the high-rise building with damping rigid outrigger storeys changing with its total damping coefficients are set up.Based on it,the selection criteria of total optimal damping coefficients are the key of the structure.(5) seismic effect of the frame-tube structure with strengthened storeys, the frame-tube structure with diagonal-brace damping layers and the frame-tube structure with damped rigid outriggers under the action of pulse-like earthquake waves and nonpulse-like earthquake waves are analyzed and compared. the computing results show that the structure with damped rigid outriggers has the best seismic performance in the above three frame-tube structures, and the pulse-like earthquake waves make a great impact on seismic performance of the high-rise buildings.
